Pilot Flight Schools - a 15 months practical syllabus
Training continues in pairs of two pilot students, with practical training split into 5 blocks (A to E) over 60 weeks.
Basic piloting
Advanced piloting
Navigation flights
First flights alone on board
Night flying,
Navigation flights
Hours building
Instrument flying
Radionavigation
Upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT)
Travail en équipage et standardisation APS MCC
You'll fly for the first time. You'll discover the single-engine Glass Cockpit and learn basic piloting on this type of aircraft.
You perfect your piloting skills, discover navigation and make your first flight as a captain.
56 hours and 15 minutes of applied theory
22 hours flight instruction on single-engine aircraft
10 hours single-engine flight instruction alone on board
5 hours flight instruction on FNPTII simulator
You'll obtain your night pilot license and learn to navigate long distances. You will take the CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence) practical flight test and the MEP (Multi Engine Piston) rating.
24 hours and 45 minutes of applied theory
30 hours flight instruction on single-engine aircraft
9 hours flying single-engine aircraft alone on board
17 hours flight instruction on multi-engine aircraft
5 hours flight instruction on FNPTII simulator
A phase dedicated to learning instrument flying and developing your radionavigation skills.
You take the practical IR ME (Instrument Rating Multi Engine) exam.
33 hours and 45 minutes of applied theory
45 hours flight instruction on single-engine aircraft
15 hours flight instruction on multi-engine aircraft
20 hours flight instruction on FNPTII simulator
The upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT) is an integral part of all commercial pilot training.
It prepares you to perform an appropriate procedure to recover from an in-flight loss-of-control situation.
At Astonfly, this training is taught on the Mudry Cap 10, a French single-seater aerobatic aircraft. The training is validated by a certificate.
6 hours and 45 minutes of e-learning theory
3 hours flight instruction on single-engine aircraft
1 hour flight instruction on aerobatic aircraft
During this phase, carried out at a simulation center in Dublin (Ryanair Flyer Academy) or Berlin (Multi Airlines), you learn to work as part of a crew in a multi-pilot environment, and obtain your MCC (Multi Crew Cooperation) and APS (Airline Pilot Standard) qualifications.
16 hours CBT (Computer Based Training)
40 hours of applied theory
20 hours of briefings and debriefings
40 hours FTD Level 2 simulator training (Boeing 737 MAX)
Blocks A, B and C are carried out on modern four-seater aircraft, suitable for pair training, with 2 students and 1 instructor on board each flight.
These aircraft, of the Cessna 172S and Diamond DA42 types, are particularly known for their flight demonstration capabilities, and are all equipped with latest-generation G1000 avionics. Block D, dedicated to in-flight exercises in unusual positions, is taught on two-seater Mudry Cap 10 aerobatic aircraft.
Astonfly has FNPT II-certified flight simulators at Toussus le Noble for blocks A, B and C. For Block E, the APS MCC is performed on an FTD Level 2 simulator in Dublin (Ireland) or Berlin (Germany), depending on your training program.
A wide range of sports activities to complement your training
Well aware of the importance of sport not only for health, but also for intellectual performance and the social aspect, Astonfly includes two mandatory hours of sport each week as part of the theoretical syllabus. This is an opportunity for Astonfly students to relax, challenge themselves and socialize through physical activity.
The benefits of sport are well proven. Astonfly offers you a choice of sports activities included in the cost of your training: Badminton, Boxing, Futsal, Gymnastics/Pilate, Judo, Tennis, Yoga, Zumba, Climbing, Basketball and Volleyball ( depending on availability).
