The profession

The theory phase leads to the 13 ATPL exams, plus the 100 KSA — the knowledge, skills and attitudes assessed alongside the written exams. The FCL.055 Aviation English assessment is added to this.
This phase takes place on the Toussus-le-Noble campus and precedes most of the practical training.
The subjects range from flight mechanics to meteorology, via navigation, performance, regulations, communications and human factors.
Each block is validated by an official exam. Together they make up the airline pilot theory qualification, recognised across Europe under EASA regulation.
Subject to the conditions set out in the contract, the amounts paid for the theory training can be refunded: this requires, in particular, a 9-month course and effective attendance of at least 75%.
Unused flight hours are also refunded according to the contractual conditions.
