Admissions

The Class 1 medical certificate is the mandatory medical examination for airline pilots. It is carried out at an approved aeromedical centre and checks that your health is compatible with the demands of the job.
Appointment lead times vary between centres, and the certificate is a condition for entering practical training. Starting the process as soon as you apply avoids pushing back an intake.
If in doubt on a particular point, a preliminary opinion from the approved centre often clarifies the situation before the full examination.
